When clients come to us with problems that just don’t seem to have solutions, we love to crack the code and find an answer!

Recently, a property management company, our longstanding clients, came to us with a conundrum. They had just taken over the management of a beautiful estate that had been converted into apartments. For the safety and security of their residents, they decided they wanted an access system on the entrance gate. This system would have a keypad and intercom function meaning visitors would have to be granted entry by a resident or block manager. Systems such as these are common among apartment buildings, private residences and even commercial properties such as schools and offices. Their popularity is owing to the increased protection they afford users, granting more control over who has access to their property. There is also now a wide variety of affordable models on the market – a small price to pay for feeling safe in your home or place of work.

Unfortunately, in the case of our client, installing an intercom system at the gate of the property would involve running 200 metres of cabling back to the manor. Not only would this prove incredibly expensive, but it would also be potentially disruptive to residents during the installation period.

Luckily, we had a solution!

In a day and age where wireless communication is king, the answer couldn’t have been simpler. We’re installing a wireless intercom system, complete with video, that can be accessed from a mobile phone.

The Akuvox R29C-L enables high-quality audio and visual monitoring of the front gate, providing maximum security without expensive and inconvenient cables. This wall-mounted, slimline piece of access technology features voice activation detection, echo cancellation and a 2-watt speaker, making communicating with delivery personnel and visitors clear and easy. With a dual camera, this system keeps residents feeling as safe as possible, while the infrared sensor allows them to see a clear image of their visitor, even at nighttime. The system even generates QR codes to allow you to send one-time access. This allows users to give limited access to their expected visitors – a function particularly useful for Airbnb hosts who don’t want a traditional lockbox system.

If you’re searching for an intercom system to enhance security without the hassle of cables then this system is the perfect solution.
